How to compare linen-look upholstery fabrics
Compare the scale of the texture and its colour under consistent lighting, then confirm the selection with a physical swatch.
Compare at two distances
Hold the swatches side by side at arm’s length to see the texture. Step back to assess how prominent the pattern may look on a full sofa. MPW521 is one reference to shortlist if you want to see a finer crosshatch.
Keep colour and construction separate
Compare the same or similar shades under the same light. Confirm fibre composition, fabric width, weight and backing separately with the technical sheet. A linen-like appearance describes the visible finish.
Ask for a physical sample before choosing
Send the reference, your intended use and any required performance tests. Check the colour alongside the furniture finishes and retain an approved sample for later comparison.
