How to compare upholstery fabric quotes by metre or roll
Convert each offer to the same unit and check usable width, metres per roll and the quote basis before comparing prices.
Convert roll prices using actual metres
For a quote per roll, divide the roll price by its stated length to obtain a price per linear metre. Ask whether the length is fixed or indicative. If you are comparing by area, also divide the linear metre price by usable width in metres.
Compare the same scope
Check the fabric reference, construction or backing, quantity per shade, packing and delivery basis before comparing totals. Ask how short rolls, allowable defects and dye lots are handled if these affect your cutting plan.
Request a comparable written offer
Send each supplier the same quantities, destination and application. If you need a swatch first, include the code on the photo and the required shade so the team can quote the reference you actually evaluated.
